Variable Files
AutoCAD uses variables to give users the possibility to customize the AutoCAD environment. Many of these variables are stored in the drawings.
When CompareDWG compares two drawings in Detailed Mode, it can also compare these drawing variables. For some users this option will provide valuable information, others may not be interested since most of these variables will not directly influence the graphical appearance of a drawing.
In the Preferences there is a field called Variable File. A Variable File contains a list of the variables you want to be compared. The example file that comes with CompareDWG contains all currently supported variables. You can edit this file and put a semicolon in front of the variables you do not wish to compare.
If you want no variables at all to be compared, simply clear the field in the preferences.
